Join our Graduate Development Program

The Department’s Graduate Development Program is delivered over a ten-month period and aims to equip you with the skills, experience and knowledge you need for a career in the Department and the Australian Public Service.

The key aspects of the program are:

  • formal induction to the Department;
  • work rotations—placements in three different areas of the Department;
  • a structured training program comprising courses, workshops and a team project;
  • an interstate industry tour;
  • a specialised mentoring scheme providing guidance for work and career; and
  • social and sporting opportunities
