Who are we?

Professional Pathways Australia is committed to supporting international students and graduates support their career ambitions. Since 2001, our business has been successfully placing international students and graduates in internships within host companies across Australia. In May 2008 we became the first partner in Australia to be endorsed by professional bodies to provide the ACS Professional Year and Skilled Migration Internship Program in Accounting (SMIPA).

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program you must:

  • Be an international student who has graduated from an Australian university in either an IT or Accounting course that provides two years credit points over a minimum of 18 months.
  • Have applied for, or hold, a 485 Temporary Residence Visa
  • Have achieved an IELTS of 6 in each band
  • Have a Skills Assessment Letter from the relevant professional body

Course content

The Professional Year / SMIPA course comprises of 4 components:

  1. Business Communication Skills course
  2. Australian Workplace Skills course
  3. Internship
  4. Professional component

At the completion of the program the graduate will be eligible to apply for an additional 10 points towards PR.

A new course begins every 5 weeks. Start dates for the remainder of 2009:

November 30
